Beyond the Dark Hedges, A Meowlloween Mystery!

The Chirpies always enjoy their tunnels in the catio especially when their humans are present. In between garden cleanup, I decided to keep some cuttings of the sunflowers, Swedish Ivy and Cosmos stalks. Why? Well, when you live and breathe cat enrichment ideas, you don’t pass up an opportunity to let your imagination run wild! A combination of olfactory enrichment, Halloween and a setting from the TV series, Game of Thrones.

Jack and the Vine Stalk and things we did this summer

Within a few slow blinks of an eye, the days have become shorter. And as I sit here washing my paw, I pause for a second with my tongue out, as the thought of Leaf Fall sweeps away my lazy summer reverie. I will miss our catio expeditions, the backyard drama and the sun puddles kissing my fifty shades of grey fur.

Yes, it’s me, Mr. Jack, and I paw this with a sense of sadness and nostalgia as summer is coming to an imminent close. And much like Henri Le Chat Noir, I wish to hold onto the memory of those long balmy days before my winter ennui sets in.

A water feature you and your cats will love

You have created the perfect outdoor space for your cats and they’re loving it! There are cat grass pots, hanging catnip baskets, and various arrangements of other cat-safe plants. What more could a happy cat want? But there is something missing. An element that is vital to our wellbeing and is an essential component in the art of feng shui – water, the giver of life.

Monday Haiku: Jumpstart into Spring

Nothing feels as good
As a leap into freedom
From winter’s shackles

I’m feeling revitalized and supercharged after a long winter. I’m ready to get moving and exploring. I don’t care if they say there’s more snow to come, just let me enjoy this moment here and now. Very soon the vine buds will show and the scent will be irresistible. This is my space. This is the Vine Corner.  Read More

Monday Haiku: Fall, A Tortie’s Best Friend

Hello, it’s Scout here and I present this week’s Marvelous Monday Haiku. Fall is my favorite time of the year because I like to collect leaves and bring them inside for the Big Man Cat while he works. I think he appreciates the sentiment. My job as interior decorator is made so much easier too because the catio is one messy jungle with an array of different colored leaves ranging from the rich chartreuse of the Kolomikta Kiwi vine to the browns and reds from the tree. Some really stoic, cheery sunflowers are still out and have not given up and the heady scent from the purple catmint blooms gives Mr. Jack sunset zoomies in the tunnel.

How to make your own joy when your friend is being a sourpuss.

Hello furriends! I am delighted to introduce our first Caturday Voodle and we hope you like it!

What the cat is a #caturdayvoodle, you may ask?

As some of you may know most Caturdays we feature Caturday Doodles which include drawings of our unique ‘cat-pinions’ and other catitudes. Since we like doing cat videos too, we have created a new segment in Cat Fun called Caturday Voodles which will include some funny little video and voice snippets of us Chirpies doing what we do best; whether it’s causing mischief, playing with our toys, snoozing, playing patty-cake and other fun cat stuff. As we always insist that our voices be heard, our Caturday Voodles also include our unique voices too! So there you have it, that’s a Caturday Voodle!

But enough jabbering on about that! I want to share with you why I feel inspired.

Marvelous Monday Haiku with Scout

Hello, friends, I’m Scout the feisty tortie and I present today’s Marvelous Monday Haiku. When you don’t have to go to school or work there’s nothing much to worry about other than where to find the best sun puddles at 10 am, why Charlie seems to get special food and why yellow fluffy bees bother me while I’m trying to take a snooze. I know these woes, though real, pale in comparison to a human’s daily lamenting about things like Mondays, traffic, bosses, and bills. Read More

Sunny faces delight the Chirpy Cats catio

Summer is not over until the lady with the golden crown has sung her sweet cheery song of delight and optimism. Yes, the sunflowers have finally shown their bright vibrant faces and we are loving it! Sarabi and Mr. Jack make the most of a sunny Sunday in the tunnel while the sunflowers belt out their dramatic arias with “Hello, we’re here!”
